Hour of power

Are you a genius?  The definition of a genius includes all the predictable stuff, intellectual ability originality, brilliance, skill, creative, mathematics.  One thing I don’t find in the standard definition is focus or persistence.  The fact is that most of the people we celebrate as geniuses invested about 10,000 studying before being noticed.

What’s missing?

It’s human to get so caught up inside what is going on that you often miss important things.  The filters of perception and beliefs block our ability to see the full reality of a situation.  These blind spots cause us to miss opportunities or get the same results over and over because we keep “seeing” things from the same perspective.

See the Silver Lining

It seems that all too often it’s human nature to focus on, worry about and stress out over things we have no control over.  In the cosmic poker game of life we are all dealt a hand of cards and that is the hand we have to play. The origin of the phrase is traced to John Milton's 'Comus' (1634) with the line, “Was I deceiv'd, or did a sable cloud turn forth her silver lining on the night?"
